Hennessy recently celebrated its annual Hennessy Privilege Awards honouring FUBU founder and co-host of the popular ABC show Shark Tank, Daymond John, for his commitment to giving back through philanthropy and mentorship. The award, now in its 11th year, is bestowed by Hennessy to individuals who not only display a high level of "achievement in their chosen field, but leverage their success to better their community through leadership and service." Past recipients include Magic Johnson, Spike Lee, Carmelo Anthony, Emilio Estefan, Patti La Belle, George Lopez and Andy Garcia.

"For two hundred and fifty years, the House of Hennessy has been fuelled by the notion that the pursuit of achievement and mastery is an endeavour worth celebrating and championing in others," said Rodney Williams, Senior Vice President for Hennessy US. "Through the Hennessy Privilege Award, we recognise those who embody this ideal through mentorship and philanthropy. There is no one more worthy of receiving this honour and joining the ranks of past recipients than Daymond John."

The ceremony, held at New York's iconic Guastavino's, featured a lively discussion between MTV News' Sway Calloway and John about his entrepreneurial achievements and philanthropic philosophy in front of a crowd of family, friends and business associates. John's on-air competitor and off-air friend, real estate mogul Barbara Corcoran, led attendees in a heartfelt toast to the honouree.
