Klipdrift recently updated the brand to embody Gold in Every Drop, Van Ryn's celebrates the craftsmanship aspect of centuries-old brandy making traditions, while Oude Meester showcases the mastery that goes into making these products.
"Awards like these help support the messages conveyed to the public about our brands. It reinforces our belief that South Africa has the best brandies in the world and that this is an underestimated category in the international spirits market," said Distell Brandy Ambassador Nick Holdcroft.
"The Veritas Awards are synonymous with excellence in wine and brandy, without which our brandies would not be internationally renowned. Having quality base wine is just one of the many steps in brandy making process which leads to a high quality end product," said Caroline Snyman, Distell's Director for Luxury brands. "As such we are pleased to make our presence felt at this auspicious occasion for the South African drinks business."
"The connoisseur segment of the brandy market has shown steady and consistent growth as more South Africans hear of the world-class performance of our products at international shows." South Africa has won the title of Worldwide Best Brandy no fewer than 12 times over the past 14 years. "We are confident that the market holds excellent prospects for the continued growth of the premium brandy category and awards such as this reinforce our belief in what we are producing," Snyman said.
