Gold for Durbanville Hills’ Cool-Climate Pinotage

The 2012 Rhinofields Pinotage of Durbanville Hills has received gold at the 2014 Decanter World Wine Awards, one of the world's largest and most prestigious wine competitions.

This full-bodied wine was matured in extra tight-grained new and second-fill French oak for 12 months. The end product is a fine example of how the cool-climate conditions of the Durbanville area with a unique combination of maritime breezes and soil composition promote quality and elegance.

The Rhinofields range is named for the threatened indigenous renosterveld of which 320 ha are preserved on member farms as part of the Biodiversity and Wine Initiative's conservation programme.

The 2012 Rhinofields Pinotage is available from fine liquor shops and the cellar for about R109 per bottle.
