How to Chill a Drink in Under 2min

It's a familiar story. Friends pop by for a visit so you go to the fridge to get them a beers and... you have nothing cold. Sure there is a 6 pack on TOP of the fridge, but all your cold stuff was drunk at last weekend's braai and you never got around to restocking.

Drinking warm beer is like kissing the large woman with the mono-brow who runs the fish shop on the corner; not ideal, but you'll take it if there is nothing else. But no one should have to suffer such conditions. This is not North Korea!

Well it turns out that all you need to cast out the demon of warm beer is some ice (obviously) and a bit of salt (huh?). Also works with soft drinks. Apparently.
