MUDL Talks Liquor with Beaumont SA

Editor of MUDL, Grant McDonald Editor of MUDL, Grant McDonald

Recently MUDL was invited by Beamont SA, one of the world's foremost designers and manufactures of optic spirit measures for over 30 years, to discuss the SA liquor and cocktail scene. In the interview we covered such topics as the growth of bespoke cocktails, the challenges facing the growth of premium mixed drinks in the on-trade, and the exciting bartending fraternity that exists in South Africa which is driving the industry forward.

Ultimately, a bar is a business, and in order to be profitable there are a number of factors that need to be addressed. Yes hospitality and passion are important, but so is protecting the bottom line against inefficiency and wastage. As Angus Winchester has stated in an earlier interview with MUDL, it's vital to treat your staff as partners in your business if you want them to work with you towards making your venue a success.
