TMZ has revealed on their website that US rapper Pitbull is sueing E. & J. Winery & New Amsterdam Spirits Company for alledged trademark infringement.
The liquor company is marketing a cocktail recipe they're calling the Pit Bull, made with New Amsterdam vodka, lime juice, grapefruit juice and lemon/lime soda, and the rapper is claiming that they are benefitting unfairly from his name. What is further upsetting Pitbull is that he has a stake in another vodka brand (Voli) which competes with the New Amsterdam product.
The rapper, who trademarked his name in 2000, is insisting that the recipe be pulled and that he be financially compensated. Exactly how much money he's asking is undisclosed, but rumours that he's demanding that the New Amsterdam Spirits Company Give Me Everything are unfounded.
