The Monkey Howls Alongside The Big Shots

A Drinks International survey confirms: the world's best bars count the German gin, Monkey 47, as the top trending spirit brand, as well as the 2nd most frequently requested gin by consumers.

Who distills the top trending and most requested brands in the world? The Drinks International editorial team sought the answer to just this question. The specialist publication for the alcoholic drink culture did not ask just anyone though, but rather the "World's 50 Best Bars". The leading establishments in metropolises from Los Angeles to Tokyo feature on this list drawn up by Drinks International. The editors wanted to know from those in charge what the "Top 10 Trending Brands" actually are, and which brands are most in demand among customers.

The "Who's Who" of Spirit Brands

The list naturally sounds like the "Who's Who" of the world's leading brand names, which have been firmly established on the market for decades now. Yet a young ape from the Black Forest has also successfully infiltrated this circle of big shots and even topped the list. The world's bartender elite named Monkey 47 as the top trending brand across all spirits categories and the second most frequently requested gin in the world.

"We are extremely pleased that our carefully crafted product has been accepted into this circle of otherwise well-established authorities. It is wonderful to see that the leading bars' patrons are requesting and holding small, high quality brands in high regard because this is what it is all about," says Alexander Stein, CEO and Founder of Black Forest Distillers, of the award.

Ascending to lofty heights

The Black Forest Distillers began distilling their gin according to a long-lost recipe back in 2008. Within a matter of years, the newcomer had joined the quality spirits at the very pinnacle of the connoisseur scene. Since being introduced in the United States in April of 2014, Monkey 47 has garnered over 725 million media impressions in top publications and has been named "the greatest & most complex gin ever made" by Robert M. Parker Jr, and "Best of the Best" by The Robb Report.

Bollenhut, turban and bowler hat – a batch distilled and handcrafted gin that fuses British traditions, the exoticism of India and the originality of the Black Forest with master craftsmanship. A third of the ingredients for this special gin originate from the Black Forest, such as the spruce tips, lingonberries, elderflower, sloes and blackberry leaves, to name but a few. In total, 47 handpicked plant ingredients prepared in soft spring water from a Black Forest source lend Monkey 47 complexity and quality. The piece de resistance is a real Black Forest "secret weapon," fresh lingonberries.
